RedOXY®-3C combines ferrate-based oxidation, reactive-oxygen chemistry and adsorption in one granular formulation for surface water, groundwater and wastewater remediation.
The formulation contains three functional components: RED3X, OXY3X and ADSORB3X. RED3X provides iron-based oxidation and catalyst functions; OXY3X supports hydroxyl- and sulfate-radical formation; and ADSORB3X captures selected dissolved or oxidized contaminants. During treatment, iron-based reaction products may also form FeOOH particles that support coagulation and adsorption. A downstream filtration stage using CRYSTOLITE® or Katalox-Light® is recommended to separate suspended solids and pollutant-loaded particles from the treated water.
Designed for professional treatment programs where oxidation, contaminant transformation, coagulation, adsorption and final filtration are required.
Treatment of contaminated lakes, ponds, rivers and reservoirs.
Ex-situ or controlled in-situ treatment of affected groundwater following site assessment.
Treatment of wastewater containing oxidizable organics, sulfides, nutrients, colour and selected metals.
Oxidation support for water affected by aliphatic, aromatic and other petroleum-related compounds.
Evaluation for phenols, endocrine-disrupting compounds and other difficult organic contaminants.
Integration with adsorption, filtration, biological treatment and reuse systems.
RED3X is described as an iron-based component with ferrate oxidation, catalytic and reduction-stabilization functions.
OXY3X supports hydroxyl-radical and sulfate-radical chemistry for the transformation of susceptible organic and inorganic pollutants.
ADSORB3X provides adsorption sites for selected dissolved pollutants and oxidation products, helping transfer contaminants from water to a separable solid phase.
Iron-hydroxide particles and pollutant-loaded solids must be removed through settling or filtration using a suitable process such as CRYSTOLITE® or Katalox-Light®.
RedOXY®-3C is presented as a combined oxidation, coagulation and adsorption process rather than a single oxidant.
