CARBONBLOCK-TS3®

Compressed activated-carbon and TITANSORB®-P cartridge for multi-contaminant adsorption

Dual-Adsorbent Carbon Block

Activated carbon and TITANSORB®-P / Combined in one advanced cartridge

CARBONBLOCK-TS3® is a compressed activated-carbon cartridge incorporating TITANSORB®-P adsorbent for combined mechanical filtration and adsorption of selected organic and inorganic contaminants.

The compressed carbon-block structure supports sediment, chlorine, taste, odor and adsorbable-organic reduction. TITANSORB®-P introduces additional adsorption sites intended for selected dissolved metals and other target contaminants. The cartridge operates without electricity or concentrate discharge and generally retains naturally occurring mineral ions. Every contaminant claim and capacity must be confirmed through product-specific testing for the exact cartridge model and operating conditions.

Two adsorbents / One compact filtration cartridge

CARBONBLOCK-TS3 Introduction

One cartridge.
Multiple point-of-use treatment objectives.

CARBONBLOCK-TS3® is intended for use in compatible Watch Water housings. Cartridge selection and replacement must be based on the source-water analysis, target contaminants, flow rate and certified capacity.

Point-of-Use Drinking Water

Under-sink filtration for chlorine, taste, odor, sediment and validated target contaminants.

Kitchen and Beverage Water

Compact filtration for drinking-water taps, coffee preparation and beverage equipment.

Chlorine and Organic Reduction

Adsorption of free chlorine and selected dissolved organic compounds.

Heavy-Metal Adsorption

Treatment of specifically validated dissolved metals through TITANSORB®-P adsorption.

Micropollutant Polishing

Adsorptive polishing for selected pesticides, phenolic compounds and pharmaceutical residues when test data support the application.

Industrial Polishing Applications

Final-stage treatment where low contaminant concentrations must be reached and verified through monitoring.

Four treatment functions engineered into one cartridge

CC

Compressed Activated-Carbon Block (CARBON-COMPRESS™)

A compressed—not extruded—carbon structure provides mechanical strength, sediment filtration and a large adsorption surface for chlorine and organic compounds.

TS3

Inorganic Adsorption Support (TITANSORB-TS3™)

Immobilized TITANSORB®-P introduces additional surface sites intended to improve adsorption of selected dissolved metals and inorganic contaminants.

MB

Integrated Particle Filtration (MICRO-BARRIER™)

The compressed carbon block mechanically intercepts sediment and particulate matter. The brochure refers to filtration down to approximately 10 microns, but the rating type must be confirmed.

PR

Proposed Photocatalytic Regeneration (PHOTO-RENEW™)

The brochure describes external UV or sunlight exposure as a method for partially regenerating the cartridge. This should be presented only after a validated, hygienic regeneration protocol is available.

Science & Technology

CARBONBLOCK-TS3® combines physical filtration, activated-carbon adsorption, TITANSORB®-P surface adsorption and a proposed photocatalytic regeneration mechanism.

  • Mechanical Particle Interception – Water passes through the compressed porous block, where particles larger than the effective pore structure are mechanically retained.
  • Activated-Carbon Adsorption – Chlorine, taste- and odor-causing substances and suitable organic molecules interact with the carbon’s internal surface and pore network.
  • TITANSORB®-P Adsorption – The incorporated inorganic adsorbent is intended to provide additional binding sites for selected metal ions and other target contaminants.
  • Light-Activated Photocatalysis – UV irradiation of TITANSORB®-P creates electron-hole pairs and reactive oxygen species capable of degrading adsorbed organics (requires sufficient UV exposure, catalyst accessibility and validated testing).

Frequently
Asked Questions

Important information about CARBONBLOCK-TS3® construction, applications, performance and replacement.

Contact Support
What is CARBONBLOCK-TS3®?
It is a compressed activated-carbon cartridge incorporating TITANSORB®-P adsorbent for combined particle filtration and adsorption.
How is it different from a conventional carbon block?
In addition to activated carbon, it contains TITANSORB®-P, which is intended to provide additional adsorption sites for selected inorganic contaminants.
Does the cartridge reduce chlorine, taste and odor?
Activated carbon generally supports free-chlorine, taste and odor reduction. Product-specific capacity should be confirmed through current test data.
Does it remove heavy metals?
The product is promoted for selected metal adsorption, but removal depends on metal species, pH, concentration, competing ions, flow and cartridge capacity.
Does CARBONBLOCK-TS3® remove 99% of every listed metal?
No universal percentage should be stated without contaminant-specific testing. A result achieved under one test condition cannot automatically be applied to every metal or water source.
Can it remove PFAS?
The brochure mentions PFAS reduction, but a current data sheet should identify the tested compounds, influent concentration, capacity, flow rate and breakthrough criterion.
Does it remove pathogenic bacteria?
The brochure lists pathogenic bacteria, but the cartridge should not be presented as a microbiological purifier without organism-specific log-reduction testing and certification.
Does the cartridge require electricity?
No electricity is required for normal filtration. Water pressure drives flow through the cartridge.
Does it remove beneficial minerals?
It is not an ion-exchange softener or reverse-osmosis membrane, so calcium and magnesium are generally retained. Some removal could occur depending on chemistry and adsorbent selectivity.
Can the cartridge be regenerated in sunlight?
The brochure proposes 48-hour sunlight or UV exposure for a maximum of two regeneration cycles. Reuse should not be recommended until capacity recovery and microbiological safety have been independently validated.
When should the cartridge be replaced?
Replace it when its certified capacity or time limit is reached, when flow declines or when monitoring identifies contaminant breakthrough—whichever occurs first.
Can the spent cartridge be discarded with household waste?
Disposal depends on the contaminants accumulated by the cartridge. Filters used for metals, PFAS, radionuclides or hazardous organics may require controlled disposal.
