Virol-Oxy®

Powder-concentrate oxidation technology for professional surface disinfection

Professional Disinfection

Prepare fresh / Apply completely / Verify every disinfection process

Virol-Oxy® is a powdered disinfectant concentrate designed to produce an oxidizing working solution for professionally managed surface and equipment treatment.

Virol-Oxy® is described as a stabilised formulation containing an oxygen-releasing compound, crystalline titanium dioxide, surfactant and buffering chemistry. After dissolution in water, the solution is intended to oxidise susceptible proteins, lipids and cellular components associated with microorganisms. This can disrupt microbial structures and reduce viable organisms when the correct concentration, contact time and application method are used. All public efficacy claims must match the product’s current authorised label, market-specific registration and validated test reports.

Broad surface coverage / Controlled oxidative treatment

Virol-Oxy Introduction

Professional disinfection across critical environments

Virol-Oxy® may only be used for applications included on its current authorised label. Concentration, contact time, pre-cleaning and rinsing requirements can differ by application.

Healthcare Environmental Surfaces

Treatment of compatible, non-porous environmental surfaces in professionally managed healthcare facilities.

Public & Commercial Facilities

Applicable to selected high-contact surfaces in offices, public buildings, transport facilities and commercial environments.

Food-Processing Environments

Treatment of compatible equipment and non-food-contact or food-contact surfaces where specifically authorised and followed by required rinsing.

Animal Health & Transport

Applicable to compatible animal-housing and transport surfaces under veterinary and regulatory guidance.

Aquaculture & Horticulture Equipment

Treatment of compatible tools, tanks, equipment and hard surfaces where the authorised product label permits use.

Water-System Components

May be evaluated for compatible tanks, pipes or delivery-system components under a validated disinfection and flushing procedure.

Four formulation functions / Supporting controlled disinfection

OXY

Oxygen-Releasing Chemistry (OXY-OXIDATION)

The dissolved formulation generates oxidizing species capable of damaging susceptible microbial proteins, membranes and cellular structures.

TiO₂

Mineral Catalytic Support (TiO₂-CATALYSIS)

Crystalline titanium dioxide is included as a mineral component intended to support the formulation’s oxidation performance.

WET

Improved Solution Coverage (SURFACE-WETTING)

Surfactant chemistry improves wetting and contact across compatible surfaces, helping the solution reach contaminated areas.

pH

Controlled Working-Solution Chemistry (BUFFER-STABILITY)

Buffering and stabilising components support solution consistency during its validated working life.

Science & Technology

Virol-Oxy® relies on oxidative chemistry and complete surface contact to reduce susceptible microorganisms.

  • Oxidizing-Solution Formation – Powder dissolved in water to create a coloured working solution (exact active ingredient and available oxygen concentration must be stated on current label and SDS).
  • Protein and Membrane Oxidation – Oxidizing species modify amino-acid side chains, membrane lipids and other microbial components, causing loss of infectivity or viability.
  • Surfactant-Assisted Contact – Surfactants reduce surface tension and improve wetting (effective disinfection still requires pre-cleaning when soil or organic material can interfere).
  • Concentration–Time Control – Microbial efficacy depends on concentration, contact time, temperature, surface type and organic load (surface must remain visibly wet for the complete contact period).

Frequently
Asked Questions

Essential information about Virol-Oxy® preparation, surface use, contact time, efficacy and safety.

Contact Support
What is Virol-Oxy®?
Virol-Oxy® is a powdered concentrate used to prepare an oxidizing solution for authorised professional surface-disinfection applications.
What active ingredient does it contain?
The brochure refers to powdered hydrogen-peroxide chemistry, titanium dioxide, surfactant and an organic buffer. The current label and SDS should identify the precise active substance.
How is the working solution prepared?
The brochure describes dissolving 10 g per litre of water to produce a 1% solution. Only follow this concentration if it matches the current authorised label.
What is the required contact time?
The brochure references at least ten minutes. The applicable contact time must come from the efficacy test supporting the specific organism and application.
Must surfaces be cleaned first?
Yes, where visible soil or organic matter is present. Contamination can consume oxidant and protect microorganisms.
Can Virol-Oxy® be sprayed?
Only where the authorised label permits spraying and exposure controls are in place. Wiping or controlled application may reduce aerosol exposure.
Can Virol-Oxy® be used as a hand or skin disinfectant?
Not unless it has a separate current authorisation for human hygiene. A hard-surface disinfectant should not be applied to skin.
Can fruits, vegetables or raw meat be washed with it?
Not unless the product has explicit food-treatment approval, validated residue limits and label instructions for that use.
Can it disinfect medical devices?
Only if it is specifically authorised and validated for the device category. Pre-cleaning is not equivalent to high-level disinfection or sterilisation.
Is the working solution stable for ten days?
The brochure makes this claim but recommends daily preparation for full performance. Stability should be confirmed through active-concentration testing.
Does it provide 5-log disinfection?
A 5-log reduction equals 99.999%, but it only applies to organisms and test conditions covered by a valid efficacy report.
Can the solution be discharged into any sewer?
No universal disposal claim should be made. Follow the SDS, product label and local wastewater-discharge requirements.
