SoilOxy™

Controlled oxygen release and mineral conditioning for soil health and assisted bioremediation

Oxygenated Soil Technology

Restore oxygen / Support soil biology / Strengthen the root zone

SoilOxy™ is a mineral-based, oxygen-releasing soil amendment developed to support aerobic soil conditions, biological activity and contaminant remediation.

SoilOxy™ combines slow-release oxygen technology with bicarbonate-based minerals and an iron-containing adsorptive component. It is designed for oxygen-deficient, waterlogged or contaminated soils where limited gas transfer restricts root health and aerobic microbial activity. Under suitable moisture and chemical conditions, SoilOxy™ is intended to release oxygen gradually, support pH conditioning and provide surfaces for the capture of selected phosphate and arsenate species. Application rates and placement must be determined through soil analysis, treatability testing and agronomic or remediation design.

SoilOxy Introduction

One mineral formulation.
Multiple soil-restoration applications.

SoilOxy™ can be evaluated wherever oxygen deficiency, excessive moisture, acidic conditions or organic contamination limits healthy soil function.

Agricultural Soil Conditioning

Supports root-zone oxygen availability and microbial activity in compacted, wet or poorly aerated agricultural soils.

Horticulture & Landscaping

Can be incorporated into managed horticultural soils where drainage, oxygen availability and root health require improvement.

Forestry & Land Restoration

Supports selected reforestation and land-rehabilitation programmes after soil and ecological assessment.

Contaminated-Soil Bioremediation

Supplies oxygen to support aerobic microorganisms responsible for degrading selected petroleum hydrocarbons and biodegradable organic contaminants.

Waterlogged & High-Moisture Soils

Helps address temporary oxygen deficiency where saturated conditions restrict natural air exchange.

Phosphate & Arsenate Management

Iron-containing mineral surfaces may adsorb selected phosphate and arsenate species under suitable pH and redox conditions.

Four treatment functions / Supporting healthier soil

O₂

Controlled Root-Zone Oxygen (OXY-RELEASE)

The granular oxygen-releasing component is designed to provide supplemental oxygen in wet or oxygen-depleted soil.

BIO

Support for Aerobic Microorganisms (BIO-ACTIVATION)

Additional oxygen can support compatible aerobic microorganisms involved in nutrient cycling and contaminant biodegradation.

pH

Bicarbonate Mineral Buffering (pH-CONDITIONING)

Bicarbonate-containing minerals are intended to neutralise selected acidic conditions and support a more suitable soil-pH range.

Fe

Iron-Based Surface Adsorption (MINERAL-CAPTURE)

Iron-containing surfaces may bind phosphate, arsenate and selected contaminants through adsorption or surface-complexation reactions.

Science & Technology

SoilOxy™ combines oxygen-release chemistry, mineral buffering and iron-surface adsorption to support soil restoration and aerobic bioremediation.

  • Oxygen Release in Moist Soil – Generates or releases oxygen when exposed to suitable moisture and chemical conditions (release rate depends on temperature, pH, soil moisture and oxidant demand).
  • Aerobic Bioremediation – Aerobic microorganisms use oxygen as an electron acceptor while metabolising biodegradable organic compounds, accelerating treatment when oxygen is limiting.
  • Bicarbonate Buffering – Bicarbonate-containing minerals neutralise acidity and contribute alkalinity (final soil pH depends on buffering capacity, mineral composition and application rate).
  • Iron-Surface Adsorption – Iron oxides and hydroxides bind phosphate and arsenate through surface-complexation reactions (adsorption performance depends on pH, redox potential and competing ions).

Asked Questions

Technical answers about SoilOxy™ oxygen release, soil conditioning, agricultural applications and bioremediation.

Contact Support
What is SoilOxy™?
SoilOxy™ is a mineral-based, oxygen-releasing granulate intended for soil conditioning and assisted aerobic bioremediation.
How does SoilOxy™ work?
It is designed to release oxygen in moist soil while bicarbonate minerals provide buffering and iron-containing surfaces support adsorption.
Which soils may benefit from SoilOxy™?
Potential applications include waterlogged, compacted, acidic or contaminated soils where low oxygen limits roots or aerobic microorganisms.
Does SoilOxy™ replace soil drainage?
No. Persistent waterlogging usually requires drainage, compaction management or irrigation correction. SoilOxy™ may provide supplemental support.
Can SoilOxy™ increase crop yield?
Improved root-zone oxygen may benefit some crops under oxygen-limited conditions, but yield improvement depends on crop, soil, climate and nutrient management.
Can it capture carbon in soil?
Soil carbon storage is driven mainly by plant productivity, root inputs, organic matter management and decomposition. SoilOxy™ should not be presented as directly sequestering carbon without field data.
Can SoilOxy™ remediate contaminated soil?
It may support biodegradation of susceptible organic contaminants when oxygen is limiting. It will not treat every contaminant.
Can it remove heavy metals or arsenic?
Metals cannot be destroyed. Iron-containing surfaces may immobilise selected species, especially arsenate, but long-term stability and leaching must be tested.
Does it remove nitrate and phosphate?
Iron minerals can bind phosphate and arsenate. Conventional iron surfaces generally have limited nitrate adsorption unless specifically modified.
How long does SoilOxy™ release oxygen?
The brochure claims that treated land can remain oxygen-rich for years, but it does not provide a release curve. Duration must be demonstrated under representative soil conditions.
How is the correct application rate determined?
The brochure provides no universal dosage. A soil assessment, oxygen-demand test and controlled field trial are required.
Is SoilOxy™ safe for crops and soil organisms?
Safety depends on composition, dose, pH and exposure. Plant-growth, earthworm, microbial and groundwater-impact testing should support the intended use.
