INSTANT OXYDES®

Stabilised oxygen-releasing powder for oxidation, cleaning and sanitisation

Multipurpose Oxidation

Powerful oxidation. Convenient powder handling. Cleaner treatment processes.

INSTANT OXYDES® is a white, free-flowing oxidising powder that dissolves in water to release stabilised hydrogen peroxide and alkaline carbonate components.

INSTANT OXYDES® is developed for water oxidation, equipment cleaning and sanitisation applications where a stable powdered product is preferred over bulk liquid hydrogen peroxide. Once dissolved, it produces an alkaline peroxide solution that can oxidise iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide and selected organic contaminants. It can also be used to clean filter media, ion-exchange resins, membranes, tanks, pipelines and compatible food-and-beverage equipment. After reaction, hydrogen peroxide decomposes primarily into water and oxygen, while carbonate and other formulation components remain in the treated solution.

INSTANT OXYDES Introduction

One oxygen-releasing powder.
Multiple oxidation and cleaning applications.

INSTANT OXYDES® can be prepared as a controlled working solution for water treatment, equipment cleaning and sanitisation, subject to application-specific concentration and contact-time validation.

Drinking-Water Oxidation

Pre-oxidation of raw drinking water to reduce iron, manganese, sulfide and organic loads.

Filter Media and Resin Cleaning

Restoring catalytic filter media (like Katalyst-Light® or Zeosorb®) and sanitising ion-exchange resins.

Membrane CIP Cleaning

Controlled Clean-In-Place procedures for ultrafiltration, microfiltration and compatible RO systems.

Food and Beverage Equipment

Cleaning and sanitisation of tanks, pipelines, containers and commercial processing equipment.

Cooling-Water Systems

Oxidising organic buildup and controlling biological growth in recirculating cooling loops.

Tanks, Pipes and Vessels

General sanitisation and chemical cleaning for industrial water treatment plant components.

Four treatment functions / Inside one instant powder

Stabilised peroxide generation (OXY-RELEASE)

The powder dissolves in water and releases hydrogen peroxide, providing active oxygen without storing large volumes of liquid peroxide.

Iron, manganese and sulfide oxidation (METAL-OX)

The generated peroxide can oxidise reduced iron, manganese and sulfide species, supporting their subsequent removal by catalytic or mechanical filtration.

Equipment and media cleaning (CLEAN-CIP)

Alkaline peroxide chemistry can support the removal of organic deposits from compatible filter media, membranes, tanks, pipes and processing equipment.

Validable microbial control (SANIT-OXY)

At an approved concentration and contact time, the formulation may reduce susceptible microorganisms. Every sanitisation claim requires organism-specific efficacy testing.

Activated oxygen generated when and where it is needed

INSTANT OXYDES® combines a solid peroxide source with alkaline carbonate chemistry. Dissolution produces an oxidising solution that can be applied directly or ahead of catalytic filtration.

  • Peroxide Release – Solid peroxide dissolves and releases hydrogen peroxide ($Solid~peroxide + H_2O \rightarrow H_2O_{2(aq)} + carbonate~salts$).
  • Oxidation of Ferrous Iron – Hydrogen peroxide oxidises soluble ferrous iron to ferric species ($2Fe^{2+} + H_2O_2 + 2H^+ \rightarrow 2Fe^{3+} + 2H_2O$), forming filterable hydroxide particles at suitable pH.
  • Hydrogen Sulfide Oxidation – Sulfide is oxidised to elemental sulfur, thiosulfate or sulfate depending on dose, pH and reaction time ($H_2S + 4H_2O_2 \rightarrow SO_4^{2-} + 2H^+ + 4H_2O$).
  • Peroxide Decomposition – Residual hydrogen peroxide decomposes into water and oxygen ($2H_2O_2 \rightarrow 2H_2O + O_2$), accelerated by catalytic metals, temperature and pH.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Essential information about INSTANT OXYDES® preparation, oxidation, sanitisation and safe handling.

Contact Support
What is INSTANT OXYDES®?
It is a white oxidising powder that dissolves in water to generate a stabilised, alkaline hydrogen-peroxide solution.
What contaminants can it oxidise?
It may oxidise ferrous iron, dissolved manganese, hydrogen sulfide, phenolic compounds and other oxidisable substances. Performance depends on dose, pH, temperature and contact time.
Is it a disinfectant?
It may provide microbial reduction at validated concentrations and contact times. Legal disinfectant or biocidal claims require approval for the specific market and application.
Does it replace chlorine?
It can provide chlorine-free oxidation in selected applications, but it may not provide the persistent distribution-system residual required from chlorine. The two technologies are not universally interchangeable.
Does the product leave no residue?
Hydrogen peroxide decomposes into water and oxygen, but carbonate, stabilisers, reaction products and oxidised contaminants may remain. “Zero residue” should not be used as an absolute claim.
Can it be used before Katalyst-Light®?
Yes. Pre-oxidation can support the conversion and subsequent filtration of iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide.
Can it clean ion-exchange resin?
It may be used on compatible resins, but oxidants can damage some polymeric media. The resin manufacturer’s oxidant-tolerance limits must be followed.
Is it suitable for membrane cleaning?
Only for membranes, seals and housings confirmed as compatible with the intended concentration, pH, temperature and exposure time.
How is the correct dose determined?
Through water analysis, oxidant-demand testing, target-contaminant concentration, contact time and residual-peroxide measurement.
Does it change water pH?
The brochure reports a pH of approximately 10.2 for a 3% solution, so concentrated working solutions are alkaline and can affect treatment pH.
How should it be stored?
Keep it sealed, cool and dry, away from heat, sunlight, moisture, acids, reducing agents, combustible materials and incompatible chemicals.
Is it safe to handle?
It is an oxidising chemical. Operators should avoid dust inhalation and skin or eye contact and use gloves, eye protection and other PPE specified in the current safety data sheet.
