QUANTUM XSW®

Advanced radical oxidation for surface-water restoration

Surface-Water Restoration

Radical oxidation. Restored oxygen. Healthier water ecosystems.

QUANTUM XSW® is a solid advanced-oxidation formulation developed for lakes, rivers, ponds, reservoirs, wetlands and other contaminated surface-water environments.

QUANTUM XSW® combines OXYDES®-P with a proprietary Quantum Halogen Generator. When activated in water, the formulation is intended to establish sulfate-radical and hydroxyl-radical oxidation pathways while maintaining a controlled disinfectant residual. The treatment is designed to oxidize susceptible organic pollutants, control odour-causing compounds, reduce microbiological loading and support dissolved-oxygen recovery. Because natural waters vary significantly, every application requires representative testing, ecological risk assessment and professional dose control.

Advanced oxidation / Surface-water recovery

QUANTUM XSW Introduction

One surface-water platform.
Multiple restoration applications.

Designed for professionally managed water bodies where pollution, eutrophication, oxygen depletion, biological growth or odour require an integrated treatment strategy.

Lakes, Ponds and Reservoirs

Restoration of large and small lakes, ponds, reservoirs and compatible water-storage basins.

Agricultural Water Management

Treatment of agricultural runoff, irrigation water and harvested rainwater affected by nutrients, microorganisms or fouling.

Oxygen, Algae and Odour Control

Treatment support for hypoxia, anoxia, algae, biofilm, sulfide-related odour, colour and organic decay.

Decentralized and Emergency Treatment

Rapid-deployment treatment for decentralized communities and flood-affected or polluted surface water.

Aquaculture and Wetlands

Water-quality improvement in fish farms, shrimp farms, hatcheries, wetlands and marshlands following ecological assessment.

Decorative and Recreational Water

Treatment of fountains, artificial lakes, decorative water features and golf-course ponds.

Four treatment functions / Engineered into one formulation

OP

Primary Solid Oxidizer (OXYDES®-P)

The brochure identifies OXYDES®-P as 95% of the formulation and states that it provides active oxygen for radical-based oxidation reactions.

QH

Controlled Residual Generation (QUANTUM HALOGEN)

The proprietary 5% Quantum Halogen Generator is intended to establish a controlled halogen residual for extended microbiological control and biofilm management.

DR

Sulfate and Hydroxyl Radical Chemistry (DUAL-RADICAL)

Activation is designed to produce sulfate radicals ($SO_4^{\bullet-}$), and hydroxyl radicals ($\bullet OH$), for the oxidation of susceptible organic and inorganic pollutants.

O₂

Dissolved-Oxygen Recovery (OXY-RESTORE)

The formulation’s active-oxygen component is intended to support oxygen restoration and reduce anaerobic conditions under appropriately controlled treatment conditions.

Science behind QUANTUM XSW

QUANTUM XSW® combines catalytic oxidation, radical chemistry and residual disinfection. Treatment performance depends on water chemistry, pollutant demand, environmental conditions and dose distribution.

  • Sulfate-Radical Oxidation – Sulfate radicals have a published oxidation potential in the range of approximately 2.5–3.1 V and can react selectively with many electron-rich organic pollutants.
  • Hydroxyl-Radical Oxidation – Hydroxyl radicals have an oxidation potential of approximately 2.8 V and react rapidly with a broad range of susceptible organic compounds.
  • Controlled Halogen Residual – The Quantum Halogen Generator is intended to provide extended microbial control (identity, concentration and decay rate of the residual must be measured).
  • Oxygen and Ecosystem Recovery – Active-oxygen release may raise dissolved oxygen and support aerobic processes, but ecological response depends on temperature, organic load, mixing and aquatic demand.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Essential information about QUANTUM XSW® chemistry, dosage, applications, safety and environmental monitoring.

Contact Support
What is QUANTUM XSW®?
It is a solid oxidation formulation developed for contaminated lakes, rivers, ponds, reservoirs, wetlands and related surface-water applications.
How does it work?
The formulation is intended to generate sulfate- and hydroxyl-radical oxidation pathways while establishing a controlled halogen residual.
What is the published composition?
The brochure states 95% OXYDES®-P and 5% proprietary Quantum Halogen Generator.
What is the standard dosage?
The brochure provides 10-20 g/m³ as a starting range. The final dose must be established through water analysis and treatability testing.
Does it remove every pollutant?
No universal removal claim should be made. Performance depends on the pollutant, water matrix, dose, contact time and required polishing process.
Does it completely destroy PFAS?
This should only be claimed when compound-specific analysis, transformation-product assessment and fluorine mass balance demonstrate destruction rather than temporary transformation or adsorption.
Can it prevent algae blooms?
It may oxidize existing biological material and help manage nutrients, but long-term control also requires reducing external nutrient inputs.
Does it increase dissolved oxygen?
The brochure identifies 5.2% active-oxygen content. Actual dissolved-oxygen improvement must be measured because organic and sediment oxygen demand can consume released oxygen.
Can treated surface water be consumed directly?
No. Surface-water restoration does not automatically produce drinking water. A complete potable-water treatment train and regulatory verification are required.
Is it safe for fish and aquatic organisms?
Safety cannot be assumed from the product name. Dose, residual oxidant, halogen species, pH and organism sensitivity must be evaluated before treatment.
How is the product applied?
It may be distributed as powder or an approved slurry using professional surface-dosing equipment designed for uniform application.
What should be monitored after dosing?
Monitor pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, ORP, residual oxidant, halogen species, COD, TOC, nutrients, target pollutants, microorganisms, toxicity and aquatic response.
