GreenOxy®

Sustained oxygen release and nutrient management for long-term water restoration

Continuous Oxygenation

Restore water from the bottom up with sustained oxygenation

GreenOxy® is a self-sinking, oxygen-releasing granulate designed to support long-term oxygenation, sediment recovery, nutrient management and biological remediation.

GreenOxy® settles toward the bottom of the treated water body, where it gradually releases oxygen. This bottom-up oxygenation is intended to improve conditions within oxygen-depleted sediment and sludge layers while supporting aerobic microorganisms that biodegrade organic waste. The formulation also includes adsorptive functionality intended to bind selected nutrients, particularly phosphate. GreenOxy® can be applied independently after site-specific testing or used as a second treatment stage after the rapid oxidation provided by RedOxy-3C®. Long-term improvement still requires nutrient-source control, ecological monitoring and management of accumulated algal biomass.

GreenOxy Introduction

Long-term oxygen support across natural and engineered waters

GreenOxy® can be incorporated into professionally managed restoration programmes for water bodies affected by oxygen depletion, sediment oxygen demand, nutrient enrichment and recurring algae.

Lakes & Reservoirs

Supports bottom-water oxygenation and nutrient management in lakes and reservoirs affected by eutrophication.

Ponds & Recreational Waters

Helps maintain aerobic conditions in managed ponds where organic accumulation contributes to algae and odour.

Wastewater Lagoons

Provides supplemental oxygen for aerobic biodegradation in wastewater lagoons and polishing ponds.

Sediment & Sludge Treatment

Settles toward bottom deposits to support oxygenation where organic decomposition creates high oxygen demand.

Aquaculture Ponds

May support dissolved-oxygen management when used alongside continuous oxygen monitoring and emergency aeration.

Post-RedOxy Restoration

Maintains longer-term oxygen and nutrient management after the initial rapid RedOxy-3C® treatment.

Four functions / Engineered for long-term water recovery

O₂

Oxygen Released Where It Is Needed (BOTTOM-OXYGENATION)

Self-sinking granules deliver the oxygen-releasing formulation toward sediment and sludge layers rather than acting only at the water surface.

BIO

Support for Aerobic Microorganisms (BIOREMEDIATION)

Improved oxygen conditions can support naturally occurring aerobic microorganisms responsible for degrading biodegradable organic material.

P-CAP

Reduced Nutrient Availability (PHOSPHATE-CAPTURE)

Adsorptive components are intended to bind phosphate and reduce its immediate availability for recurring algal growth.

FRESH

Management of Anaerobic Conditions (ODOUR-CONTROL)

Improving bottom-water oxygen conditions can suppress the formation of hydrogen sulphide, methane and other compounds associated with strongly reducing sediments.

Science & Technology

GreenOxy® combines controlled oxygen release with sediment-level treatment and nutrient adsorption to support gradual recovery of oxygen-depleted water bodies.

  • Controlled Oxygen Release – Reacts gradually and supplies oxygen over time (release rate depends on product composition, temperature, pH and water chemistry).
  • Sediment-Level Oxygenation – Self-sinking formulation reaches the bottom to address benthic oxygen demand and reduce strongly anaerobic conditions.
  • Aerobic Biological Degradation – Supports aerobic microorganisms using oxygen to break down biodegradable organic material when environmental conditions are suitable.
  • Nutrient Adsorption – Adsorptive component captures phosphate and selected pollutants (long-term retention must be verified as phosphorus can release under changing pH or reducing conditions).

Frequently
Asked Questions

Important information about GreenOxy® oxygen release, nutrient management, applications and environmental monitoring.

Contact Support
What is GreenOxy®?
GreenOxy® is a self-sinking, oxygen-releasing granulate designed to support sustained oxygenation, sediment treatment and nutrient management.
How does GreenOxy® work?
The granules settle toward the bottom and gradually release oxygen. Adsorptive components are also intended to bind phosphate and selected contaminants.
Why is GreenOxy® used after RedOxy-3C®?
RedOxy-3C® provides the initial rapid oxidation stage, while GreenOxy® is intended to support longer-term oxygenation and biological recovery.
Can GreenOxy® be used independently?
Potentially, where the main objective is supplemental oxygenation or sediment support. Suitability must be established through site analysis and treatment trials.
How long does it release oxygen?
The current webpage claims oxygen release for up to 12 months. Actual duration depends on product composition, temperature, water chemistry and oxygen demand.
What is the recommended dosage?
The brochure lists 0.5 g/m³. This is preliminary guidance and should not replace a site-specific oxygen-demand and ecological assessment.
Does GreenOxy® control algae?
It may indirectly support algae management by improving oxygen conditions and reducing phosphate availability. It does not permanently prevent blooms if external nutrient loading continues.
Does it remove phosphate and nitrate?
The formulation is presented as adsorbing phosphate. Effective nitrate adsorption requires separate evidence because conventional mineral adsorbents generally have limited nitrate capacity.
Can it remove heavy metals?
Selected metals may bind to the adsorptive component, but metal-specific capacity and leaching data are required. Captured metals remain in the residual material or sediment.
Is GreenOxy® safe for fish and aquatic life?
Safety depends on composition, dosage and water chemistry. Aquatic-toxicity testing and field monitoring are required before making an unconditional safety claim.
Does GreenOxy® leave any residue?
The product settles into the water body and contains adsorptive material, so some mineral residual will remain. Its composition, persistence and sediment impact should be documented.
How should treatment performance be monitored?
Measure dissolved oxygen at multiple depths, temperature, pH, phosphorus, nitrogen, sulphide, turbidity, chlorophyll-a, cyanotoxins and aquatic-organism condition.
