SCALE-TECH® is a cartridge-based scale-prevention system containing FILTERSORB® SP3 nucleation-assisted crystallization media.
Installed on a cold-water line upstream of water heaters, beverage systems, steam equipment and other water-using appliances, SCALE-TECH® helps reduce calcium-carbonate scale attachment without salt, electricity, chemical dosing or regeneration. The cartridge retains naturally occurring calcium and magnesium while SpinX® distribution technology promotes improved water contact and more uniform utilization of the FILTERSORB® SP3 media bed.

Nucleation-Assisted Crystallization (NAC-CONTROL™)
FILTERSORB® SP3 promotes formation of microscopic calcium-carbonate crystals with a reduced tendency to attach to equipment and plumbing surfaces.
Dynamic Media Distribution (SPINX-FLOW™)
Angled openings in the bottom distributor create internal water movement intended to improve distribution across the media bed and reduce channeling.
Calcium and Magnesium Retention (MINERAL-KEEP™)
The process does not intentionally remove hardness minerals or replace them with sodium, helping maintain the water’s original mineral composition.

Science & Technology
SCALE-TECH® changes the crystallization behavior of temporary hardness rather than removing calcium and magnesium from the water.
- Heterogeneous Nucleation – FILTERSORB® SP3 provides active surfaces on which dissolved calcium and carbonate species can begin forming microscopic crystals.
- Reduced Surface Attachment – Once crystallization occurs in the water phase, a portion of the calcium carbonate has less tendency to crystallize directly on heating elements and equipment surfaces.
- Mineral-Preserving Treatment – Because SCALE-TECH® is not an ion-exchange softener, it does not intentionally reduce total hardness, calcium, magnesium or general TDS.
- SpinX® Distribution – Internal water movement promotes contact between the influent water and the media, supporting more uniform treatment during service.
